There are several ways of describing a check that is attempted to be cashed when the account does not have the appropriate funds: bounced, bad, rubber, insufficient funds. If this happens, you could be subjected to fees.

Abbey Credit Union understands that sometimes life gets a little hectic and mistakes happen. This is why we present “Overdraft Privilege” to all our members.*

Don’t waste your money, prevent bounced checks/overdrafts
	Be sure to record every transaction in the register of your checkbook.
	Balance your checkbook as soon as you receive your statement each month.
	Try maintaining a safe amount of money in the account; don’t loiter around a $0 balance.

* Automatically offered, this service is not mandatory, you may opt out. If checks are bounced regularly, at large amounts, or ATM/debit card transactions result in several overdrafts, Abbey has the right to withdraw this privilege. Your checks and debit card payments will not clear and you will still be responsible for the $30 overdraft fee.
