British Bank Phishing Scam We have become aware of a scam on a British bank that has a name very similar to ours - Abbey Bank in London, England. We received the following email scam. If you receive this email, do not respond to it. It is not from Abbey Credit Union or Abbey Bank. It is a fraudulent attempt to get personal banking information. Remember - Abbey Credit Union will never send you an email requesting personal information. Following is the text of the fraudulent email: From: Abbey Online Banking Sent: Tuesday, January 8, 2008 10:03:20 AM Subject: Security Alert !!! Dear Valued Customer, Abbey Bank has been receiving complaints from our customers for unauthorized use of the Abbey Online Banking accounts. As a result we are making an extra security check on all of our Customers account in order to protect their information from theft and fraud.
